Selwyn Snowfields Hosts The KP Challenge to Raise Money for CAN Assist

Wednesday, 3 August 2011

Everyone loves a fun, family day out, especially if it is for a good cause. So, here is a date for your diaries.

On Saturday 3rd September 2011, Selwyn Snowfields is inviting everyone and anyone to visit the resort to help them raise money for CAN Assist, a fantastic community organisation who provide much needed support and assistance to cancer patients and their families from regional areas.

It will be a great day for the whole family with slalom races, obstacle courses, face painting and much more happening across the resort throughout the day. All money raised from these events will be going to CAN Assist. Furthermore, Selwyn Snowfields will be donating $10 from every lift ticket sold on the day, so even just coming up and putting in a few turns on the slopes will be supporting this great cause.

"Our community here is so close and it was really devastating when we lost such a close friend", says Christie Glasson, General Manager. "Many of us wanted to do something to remember her and honour her which is where the idea of The KP Challenge was born. Selwyn Snowfields part in that is helping to raise as much money as we can for a fantastic community service, CAN Assist, who were there for our friend when they were needed most. We feel privileged to have the opportunity to pay a little back and I just hope the community gets behind us on the day."

So get out your favourite pink clothes and head up to Selwyn Snowfields on the 3rd September. Not only will you be sure to have a lot of fun, but you will be helping a really worthwhile cause too.
