What's New

The Mountain Operations and Snow Sports School have new uniforms!

Designed by Sinner, the new uniforms will completely change the face of Selwyn Snowfields with the resort bidding farewell to the previous colour schemes of purple, orange and grey. Now, the Snow Sports School Instructors will be looking very smart in red and charcoal, and the Mountain Operations crew will be equally as dashing in royal blue and charcoal. The smart new style of the uniforms is bound to get the tick of approval by both Selwyn team members and guests alike!

Three Mile Dam Pipeline Project operational in 2008

The Three Mile Dam Pipeline began construction in April 2007 and was installed to supply additional water to the resort for snow making purposes. Over the last 12 months the project is now complete and the system has been tested ready for full operation for the 2008 season.

More Snowmaking Upgrades

Every year Selwyn’s snow making system just keeps getting better and better! In addition to the completion of the Three Mile Dam Pipeline project which will supply additional snow making water to the system, Selwyn Snowfields have just automated 11 of their current Lenko Fan Guns moving the entire fleet of 30 snow making machines into either the semi-automatic or fully automatic category. The automation will allow more efficient snow production by facilitating faster start-ups and shutdowns meaning even more snow on the ground this winter!

New Ski/Board Tuning Workshop opened in the Selwyn Ski & Clothing Hire

As of June 2008 a new Ski Tuning Workshop will be open, located in the Ski & Clothing Hire building adjacent to the main car park. The Workshop will be able to perform base grinding, waxing, and general repair services to guest’s skis and snowboards. Whilst limited services were previously offered in the Ski & Clothing Hire on an ad hoc basis, the new Ski/Board Tuning Workshop will make the service more visible to guests and the addition of the new Winterstieger base grinding machine will increase the quality and range of services available.
